Monday, August 02, 2004 ~ Swimming with the fishes... Had a kayaking expediton with NACC(Ngee Ann Cannoeing Club) to sentosa yesterday.... was pretty fun & exciting... alot happened but these were the highlights...1) I capiszed in the middle of keppel habor & right in the middle of the shipping channel ... and it was all becuase no one wanted to come help us coz we were taking on water... (the kayak was 3/4 full) 2) We managed to get to Sentosa!! 3) On the way back we spent 10mins trying to fight the current and it took us almost nowhere beacuse it was so strong... and that really made everyone really tired... but eventually we managed to fight the waves and get thru... 4) Brian & me lagged way far behind the whole group because our kayak kept taking on water... so i used my Nalgene & started bailing... which didnt seem to help much... 5) I went "kayaking surfing" coz we were so far behind, Ziwen came with the power boat & then took Brian onboard while i remained inside while we attached the kayak to the side of the power boat... so that he could bring us to the front of the formation... was real cool!!! sitting in a kayak going at the speed of a power boat!!! 6) Thanks to our leaking kayak we lagged way behind everyone & we got pretty demoralised ... so Ziwen came back with the power boat to help us bail out all the water... so we got the kayak on the powerboat & then... the engine wouldnt start!!! and so we got our paddles while Ziwen tried to start the engine as we were getting very near the shore... eventually we found out that we couldnt start it coz Ziwen had taken out the key?! wah.... silly us... >.< 7) For some strange reason ... Vinson & Laverene(who kept calling our kayak the fish tank so we called their's the love boat...) kept banging into our kayak!!! have no idea why also.......... and laughed when we capsized... ironically on the way back the capsized.... well that's about everything... for everything else... u need to go yourself!!!!
