Monday, April 02, 2007 ~ No more india.

Finally back from India, and what an experience it was.. Bilat Ex. was hell for drivers as we did 16 hours almost non stop driving! On the other hand it was a good experience to interact with the Indian Army though opportunities were few... As with all things, comming back posed more threat then going there... a few friends got hurt when they came back and I really feel sorry for them... But nothing much can be done now, what's done has been done..

This trip could have been described as the Black Hawk down trip.. not only did we get rovers trashed, m113s breaking down-> hitting rocks, overheating, overturning etc.. we never seemed to have the right equipment at the right time.. it always seemed to be in the store or somewhere else or something...

R&R was fun! The shopping @ Dehli was great with all of us buying lots of stuff(well maybe not all coz i didnt get anything for myself).. Tal Mahal was good too, beautiful.. though a small incident marred it...

Lessons were learnt. I suppose only time will tell what the future holds. For now I bid farewell to my citizenship. What i've left behind. As Val once put it, we aren't totally American nor are we totally Singaporean.. so what are we? where do our homes lie? I feel underappreciated by the country that i've sworn to protect & defend. Sadness is what i feel, if only... I had taken the chance or have been given a alternative solution... There are many things in this country worth protecting... but perhaps it's God's plan not for me to stay on here for sometime? I do hope to return! So what does the future hold? Im not sure, but what I know is that God will lead me to the right path...

This is Ivan, signing off... Citizen no longer except in the heart. Now "Mercenary" status.
